The Presidium of the Government Commission recognized the Kamchatka shipbuilding project as a priority 25.10.2023

At a meeting of the Presidium of the Government Commission on Socio-economic Development of the Far East, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, the investment project of REM-NOVA DV, LLC, which provides for the creation of a large ship repair enterprise in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, was recognized as a priority.

The received status allows to use the funds of the state development Corporation VEB RF for the implementation of the project. We are talking about financial support in the amount of about two billion rubles.

Artem Dovlatov, CEO Deputy of VEB RF, noted the fundamental importance of the project implemented by REM-NOVA DV, LLC for the development of the regional economy. According to Artem Dovlatov, the commissioning of the enterprise will allow to revive the ship repair industry in the Kamchatka Territory and strengthen the production independence of Russian vessels at the expense of a domestic alternative to foreign ship repair sites.

The significance of the investment project of the REM-NOVA DV, LLC, which is part of NOREBO HOLDING, JSC, was emphasized in a recent interview with our correspondent by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Kamchatka Territory Yulia Morozova. She noted that the need for the revival of the ship repair industry in the region in the conditions of sanctions pressure is not just great. It is huge, especially if we take into account the prospects for the integration of the region into the strategic development programs of the Northern Sea Route as an international transport artery.

Yulia Morozova said in an interview that the difficulties with the implementation of the project, which received the status of a resident of the ASEZ in August 2022, are due to the geopolitical situation and the increase in the cost of loans.

The initial volume of investments in the creation of a ship repair enterprise was estimated at 4 billion 150 million. A part of the production lines was planned to be launched already in the 3rd quarter of this year. After commissioning, the company will be able to carry out dock and navigation repairs, as well as maintenance of vessels of the fishing and transport fleets. It is assumed that about 500 people will get jobs at the new production.

According to Irina Shadrina, head of the Department for interaction with residents of the Kamchatka department Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, today about 850 million rubles have been invested in the implementation of the project.

The CEO First Deputy the Development Corporation of Kamchatka, Mark Balyasny, said that NOREBO HOLDING is actively investing in the economy of the peninsula. In addition to ship repair, the joint-stock company invests in the creation of enterprises in the field of logistics and fisheries.

The Presidium of the Government Commission also discussed the financing of the "1000 yards" program. In 2024, Kamchatka will receive federal funds for the improvement of four living buildings’ territories.
