Deputy General Director of Development Corporation of Kamchatka and Head of the Freza complex Vladimir Stegney spoke about the full readiness of the international yacht marina in the Petropavlovsk Harbor for the summer navigation.

"During the pre-navigation period, a significant amount of repair and restoration work was carried out in the port. A set of measures has been implemented to ensure the safety of the owners of yachts and boats staying in the parking lot for small vessels, as well as their passengers. This is extremely important when you consider that a significant part of the vessels based here are used for sea excursions," Vladimir Stegney said, "dredging works have been carried out, major repairs of one of the berths are continuing. The high readiness of the yacht marina in Petropavlovsk Harbor for summer navigation was confirmed by representatives of the State Inspection of Small Vessels and the Transport Prosecutor's Office during a recent inspection of the port. Minor shortcomings were noted, which are being eliminated at the moment. We still have reason to say that the yacht port in Petropavlovsk Harbor remains the most convenient and safe parking for small vessels in the regional center, which is confirmed by the regulatory authorities."

Fire extinguishing and water rescue means have been upgraded at the berthing facilities, stands with information about the rules of conduct in the yacht port have been installed. Marina security has been strengthened. The entire territory of the yacht port has been equipped with a video surveillance system. Information from the cameras is sent to a monitor installed in the dispatcher's room. A radio station is also installed there. It provides reliable communication of the dispatcher with the captain of the port and other services regulating shipping in the Avacha Bay.

This year, thanks to the measures taken by Development Corporation of Kamchatka, the berthing capacity of the marina has been expanded. An additional pontoon has been put into service. Today, 58 yachts and boats of various displacement are based in the Petropavlovsk Harbor.

"After the overhaul of the 3rd berth, there will be an additional opportunity to accommodate small vessels. This year as well as the previous one, we don’t have opportunities to satisfy the applications of all citizens and organizations for basing their small vessels in the Petropavlovsk Harbor. Therefore, we will continue to increase the number of mooring places," said Oleg Syrichko, Administrative Director of the Development Corporation of Kamchatka.

Vladimir Stegney announced that not all yachts and boats have left their winter berths. This June is still inferior to the same period last year in terms of the number of tourists wishing to go on boat trips.
