The press service of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky International Airport reports about the increase of passenger and flight traffics.

In the first half of the year, the main air harbor of the peninsula provided service for more than 350 thousand residents and guests of the region, that is 10 % more than the past year. It is possible that passenger traffic at the international airport will continue to increase in the next six months. The validity of the optimistic forecast is obvious.

In the second half of the year, the route network expanded, the number of flights serviced by the airport increased. In addition to the traditional carriers – Aeroflot, Aurora, S7, until October, Kamchatka's connection with the mainland will be also provided by Ural Airlines, whose liners fly to Vladivostok, Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg three times a week.

According to the conclusions of the analytical service of the airport, the punctuality of airlines operating flights to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky has also increased. Aeroflot is the leader in this, one of the most important indicators for passengers. Almost 97 percent of its flights were operated with less than 15 minutes’ deviation from the schedule.

The construction of the main passenger apron for 9 airliners and a parking lot for small 3 seats aircraft for servicing the new airport complex is about to be completed. A drainage system and rainwater treatment facilities, taxiways, a patrol and technological road and an apron lighting system are being completed.

In the autumn of this year, it is planned to finish work on the access road to the new airport complex, the design of which was provided by the Kamchatka Development Corporation at its own expense. A high-speed four-lane highway, equipped with pedestrian paths and a modern lighting system, will connect the passenger terminal with the existing transport system of the peninsula.

At the airport complex building, the facade and engineering systems works continue.

The new terminal and the adjacent infrastructure will increase the capacity of the main Kamchatka air harbor to one and a half million people per year, bring the quality of passenger and aircraft service to the level of high modern standards with all the positive consequences for the development of tourism and the hospitality industry in the region.
