Development Corporation of Kamchatka is empowered with the functions of a regional development agency
The Government of the Kamchatka Territory adopted a resolution giving the JSK Development Corporation of Kamchatka the functions of a regional development agency. The document also defines the procedure for the interaction of the Development Corporation of Kamchatka within the new mandate with local authorities and the executive authorities of the region.
The first deputy general director of the Development Corporation of Kamchatka, Mark Balyasny, recalled that last year in December, the head of the region, Vladimir Solodov, signed the law on state support for investment activities in the Kamchatka Territory. The text of the law combined the previous legal framework for the systematic support of business activity on the peninsula into a single document that retained all the business support measures that existed before. The law also provided for the development by the Government of the region of a resolution regulating the mechanisms for the implementation of the principles of interaction of state structures with the business community laid down in the legal act, guarantees to business and the functionality of the regional development institute.
Innovations in regional legislation are due to the requirements of the Regional Investment Standard (RIS) 2.0, the implementation of which in the federal subjects is prescribed by the order of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, – said Mark Balyasny.
The main objectives of Development Corporation of Kamchatka as a development agency are to attract investments to the Kamchatka Territory, support business in the implementation of business initiatives, contribute to a favorable business climate in the region and increase the investment attractiveness of the peninsula.
Development Corporation of Kamchatka as a development agency has been granted the right to hold regional, interregional and international congress and exhibition events, organize public events and post materials and publications in a wide media space within its competence.
