Business Kamchatka business is ready to cooperate with Chinese colleagues 16.05.2023

During the visit of the delegation of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Vladivostok to Kamchatka, headed by Consul General Ms. Piao Yangfan, the head of the diplomatic mission and other members of delegation met with representatives of regional business. The topic was the development of economic cooperation. The meeting was attended by First Deputy Director General of the Kamchatka Development Corporation Mark Balyasny.

Welcoming the Chinese diplomats, the Minister of Tourism Vladimir Rusanov, the head of the Kamchatka Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dmitry Korostelev, emphasized the active course of socio-economic transformations taking place in the region. They also noted the deep interest of the regional government and business community to the development of investment and trade partnership with the friendly country.

Mark Balyasny presented a detailed investment program of the peninsula to the Chinese diplomats. Over the past 10 years, the volume of investments in fixed assets in the region has increased more than three and a half times. In many ways, unprecedented preferences created for business in the region contributed to investment growth. They contain significant benefits, including for foreign capital. Today, more than 250 projects on the peninsula use these support measures. The total volume of their investments exceeds 150 billion rubles.

The largest projects are being implemented in the key sectors of the Kamchatka economy.

Mark Balyasny stressed that the region is ready to provide potential investors with land plots with engineering and transport infrastructure for the implementation of tourism projects on a non-competitive basis.
Representatives of the largest companies of the peninsula invited to the meeting with Chinese diplomats formulated a number of proposals, the implementation of which, according to the business community, will activate mutually beneficial cooperation.

Ms. Piao Yangfan promised to convey the suggestions expressed by the business to the relevant national structures for consideration. The Consul General suggested the Kamchatka Development Corporation to form a list of major investment projects for the eventual participation of Chinese partners.

Diplomats charged themselves to introduce business initiatives to interested Chinese entrepreneurs.

The Consul General highly appreciated the results of the meeting. According to Ms. Piao Yangfan, the held dialogue fully corresponds to the spirit of good neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation that has been established between our countries, and which is being deepened and developed by the leaders of the two state.

The head of the diplomatic mission recommended Kamchatka entrepreneurs to declare themselves in a more active way in the Chinese market. Ms. Piao Yanfan considers one of the most promising areas of cooperation between Kamchatka entrepreneurs and their colleagues from China to be the fisheries complex in its entire chain: from processing to marketing of products, including the supply of equipment and technologies.
